Ember

Ember is, quite simply, one of those dogs that is impossible not to love. From the moment you meet her, she has a warmth and softness about her that naturally draws people in. She is incredibly affectionate, gentle in nature, and happiest when she is close to her people, whether that is curled up at home, out on a walk, or joining in with whatever the day brings.

She is a dual-purpose bred black Labrador Retriever, combining carefully selected show and working bloodlines to create the kind of Labrador I personally feel fits beautifully into family life. The aim behind her breeding was always balance; a dog with the calmer, more settled nature often found in show lines, while still retaining the intelligence, athleticism, and willingness to work that makes Labradors such an amazing breed.

Ember has a wonderful off-switch in the house and settles incredibly well, but equally she loves being out and about, training, exploring, and using her brain. She is eager to please, very people-focused, and naturally biddable, which makes her an enjoyable and rewarding dog to live and work with. She has the sort of temperament that makes life easy. She is sensible, adaptable, affectionate, and trustworthy.

One of my favourite things about Ember is how intuitive she is with people. She seems to naturally adjust herself depending on the situation, being calm and gentle when needed, but still playful, fun, and full of personality. She is confident without being pushy, friendly without being over the top, and has a lovely steady nature that I value hugely in a Labrador. She is fantastic around children and animals alike.

Her first litter was everything I could have hoped for. The puppies inherited her lovely temperament and have gone on to become fantastic family dogs. The feedback from owners has been overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the pups as affectionate, intelligent, easy to train, and incredibly well balanced in nature. Seeing how naturally the puppies settled into their homes and how well they have matured has made me incredibly proud of Ember as both a dog and a mother.

She also carries both yellow and chocolate, giving the potential for a range of colours in her offspring, though temperament, health, and overall quality will always remain far more important to me than colour.

Ember represents exactly the sort of Labradors I fell in love with; beautiful to look at, kind natured, intelligent, trainable, and easy to live with. She is not only a huge part of my breeding programme, but more importantly a huge part of everyday life, and we feel incredibly lucky to own her.
